Dolce and Gabbana, Be Italian, Stravaganza Siciliana
Dolce and Gabbana has unveiled the Spring/Summer 2027 new collection for women in this fall, September, 2026.
Much like a piece of programmatic music in the classical tradition—or perhaps like the individual acts of an opera—this Dolce & Gabbana fashion show also has a title.
Stravaganza Siciliana
Mix-and-match. It’s a concept that weaves together diverse materials, garments spanning different eras, and pieces originally designed for women of various ages. Beyond just the clothes themselves, this approach embraces a blend of different generations and life contexts. It even incorporates the idea of taking inherited garments and refashioning them—a process that infuses a single piece with layers of varied cultural history.
What Dolce & Gabbana seems to be conveying is a celebration of Italy’s beautiful identity—preserving, sharing, and harmonizing it across diverse cultures and age groups. Whether through subtle alterations—like upcycling or refashioning—or by simply pairing existing pieces as they are, the brand demonstrates how the beauty of different individuals and different generations can come together to create something entirely new and beautiful.
This narrative resonates perfectly with the autumn season, carrying a message that acknowledges a sense of harmony between the people inside the fashion show venue and those outside of it.

Dolce & Gabbana’s latest womenswear collection has been met with great enthusiasm, as it introduces designs that feel more urban, contemporary, and—importantly—suited for everyday wear, even within Eastern cultural contexts.
While the brand’s previous, more artistic and alluring creations perfectly captured its core identity and drew admiration for their sheer artistry, they were often challenging to incorporate into daily life—particularly in Eastern cultures—as finding the right setting to truly showcase their artistic nature required significant effort. In contrast, this new collection is likely to resonate with a much broader range of customers.
Elements seen in the previous menswear collection reappear here; for instance, necklaces adorned with large jewels evoke the opulence typically reserved for haute couture, while the combination of jeans and long faux-fur coats echoes the aesthetic of the earlier menswear line. While this might feel somewhat repetitive to those who watched the previous show, for consumers, it opens up the possibility of "couple looks," making both the menswear and womenswear collections feel more integrated into our actual lives.
Furthermore, the reinterpretation of the leopard print—achieved through a diverse palette of colors and a variety of materials—lends the collection a more modern, urban sensibility. This shift holds the promise of expanding the consumer base, potentially encouraging even more people to take a second look at the collection. A Younger, More Vibrant, and Urban Take on Leopard Print
The collection showcases a diverse range of leopard-print pieces—from skirts paired with soft, pink-toned jackets and eco-fur coats to form-fitting, lightweight dresses and tailored leopard-print jackets. With its urban and energetic aesthetic, this approach to the pattern feels thoroughly contemporary, appealing to a broad demographic that spans from younger women to those in more mature age groups.
